Naturally adapted probiotics
Naturally adapted probiotics are strains isolated from a variety of Korean foods (K-food) and allowed to evolve naturally in the laboratory as they adapt to different environments. AriBnC calls this approach Naturally Adapted & Selected and carries it out at the UNIST Research Institute in Ulsan (the UNIST site of our Corporate Affiliated Research Institute); three strains have so far been deposited for patent purposes with the Korean Collection for Type Cultures (KCTC) at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology. NGM in the strain names is the name AriBnC used when reporting the manufacture of a product made with its L. plantarum strain.

How a strain is developed
Carried out at the UNIST Research Institute, the secondary site of our Corporate Affiliated Research Institute
Natural adaptation and selection
Strains isolated from Korean foods (K-food) are adapted again and again to different culture environments in the laboratory, and those that have changed naturally to suit them are selected.
Whole-genome sequencing
The selected strain's whole genome is sequenced; the result underpins the safety review and the regulatory dossier.
Patent deposit
The confirmed strain is deposited for patent purposes with KCTC; the deposit number is cited in patents and regulatory documents.
Into study design and AI
What is established here feeds the study design at the Yongin laboratory and the models at the AI-Bio Convergence Institute.
